Hair | 10-month post BC & New haircut
(Pics via Snapchat. Sorry for the poor quality)
So, it's been 10-months since I shaved off my hair, and it's healthier than ever. I'll be sure to do a full hair update video for you guys, showing you all of my fave products and my current hair routine soon!
As for the new cut, I wanted to shape up my fro a bit... It was looking kind of scraggly and dull. I went to the Aveda salon in Sherman Oaks and got a cut by Quincy. I think he's the only Aveda stylist in the area who works with textured hair, so if you're in LA and looking for a stylist he won't be hard to find, haha.
Included in my hair appointment was a scalp massage with an awesome pepperminty oil, a hair wash, and soothing hand massage - all for $40! He cut my hair when wet, which was a bit surprising seeing as most of the natural-haircut videos suggest that you cut when dry - but it came out REALLY well.
Quincy used Aveda products from beginning to end (obviously). I've been using the Aveda Be Curly Cowash and Curl Enhancer for a couple of months prior to my visit, so my hair was already used to the botanical ingredients.
I wanted to get some color, but chose not to this time around. A) My scalp has been kind of flaky (weather change, I'm guessing), so I want to get it under control before I move forward, and B) I live in the valley and the summer heat is extremely drying. I need it to cool down a bit.
That's all I have for you for now, but reach out via social media, email or my contact form if you have any questions!
